Cara Schauer was one of the first NCBC facilitators back when the program began in 2002. Thanks to their generosity and their family and friends, as a pilot project, we subscribed to News for You®, published weekly by New Readers Press, at the classroom rate. Each Columbus club is receiving 10 copies for 16 weeks. The 4-page newspaper features stories based on articles from the Associated Press and the Los Angeles Times-Washington Post News Service, rewritten for adults with lower reading skills. It covers a wide variety of topics and uses colorful photos and graphics.
